I noticed that you mentioned a top-hundred list of books (it would be amazing to see what that list entails, your characters are hilarious!) - what are your favorites? thank you for writing this book, I'm more than halfway through, it's incredible so far.

Thanks, Lesley! The New York Times asked a bunch of writers and industry luminaries to come up with their top ten book from the last 25 years. I was honored to be asked to participate although it took me forever to chose ten books. I finally based my selection on books that had changed the way I look at things, people, events, writing styles, structure, etc. I included a lot of non-fiction--it was hard taking fiction off that list but the non-fiction really matters to me! You can google the original entire Times Top 100 list--my selections are listed under my name. Following that list, they then opened it up to public vote. I was thrilled to see Lessons in Chemistry made it on the Reader's Picks list!

Your book is fabulous! A number of co-workers and HS students (I work in a High School library) have read it and all say the same thing, "You have to read this book!" I love your humor and how it can tie some very serious topics together for that time period. One student said it brought the experience of women in the sixties to life. And, of course, Six Thirty's narration was a favorite! When is the next book?

I try to write POV in creative writing but seem to be the only one in the group, sigh. Well, when Six- Thirty started to talk I was thrilled ! I am going to recommend Lessons to my CW tutor. She recommended Terry Pratchett for me . I am reading so many books at once but love Discworld the most for spirit lifting. Sort of amazing that Pratchett was a(n?) Humanist and so am I . And Elizabeth ... Next one... pleeease?
