Linwood Barclay:
Hi Linwood, I just finished reading Trust Your Eyes & have read all those before it and thoroughly enjoyed them. In TYE, there was a lot going on, with some big themes, but it didn't feel like too much. I'm just wondering if you ever worry about putting too many different aspects into a story (potentially confusing the reader), or not enough, and how you manage to find the right balance? Thanks, Laura
Linwood Barclay
Thanks for the kind words, Laura. I like to throw as many elements as I can into a story without making it too difficult to follow. I suppose if I'm not getting confused as the author (and that can happen) I remain hopeful that the reader won't get lost, either. But the stories are designed to be intricate. I think readers want that in a mystery/thriller. Cheers, Linwood

Congratulations on your great success Mr. Barclay. I have to marvel at how you can continuously come up with new, different and compelling themes in a (relatively) short period to keep producing-by contrast, I endured about 4 years of Balkan upheaval just to come up with the full story for my new novel about Macedonia. So: what's your strategy in planning for future books? How far ahead do you create structures?

Hi, I am delighted that I can tell you how much I have enjoyed your books. The stories are gripping and well written. I currently live in the Pacific NW, but spent most of my life in Buffalo, NY. I thoroughly enjoyed some of your earlier books set in my old What's in the works?

New cover (new release?) of The Accident in e format. Just read it. I am pretty sure I read it back in 2011 but no Goodreads post. LOVED IT Can't find it on Goodreads today (Sep 11/23) under new cover/date. The two listing show publication dates on editions 1700? and 1865? Is anyone at DoubleDay dealing with this? I refuse to post a review on an addition I've not read. Thanks.
