Goodreads asked Mary Sneddon:

How do you get inspired to write?

Mary Sneddon My mother was an avid reader. There were always books all over the house. She also was an avid fanfiction writer and she would share her work and love of story telling with us. I'll never forget when she brought home the old word processor we used to use. I don't know why but I was drawn to that machine. I typed story after story, pulling inspiration from the types of books I liked to read. Dragons and magic and good and evil. They were all terrible! As I got older I lost confidence in my writing and tried comics as I began drawing, but I sat down one day and started The Seamstress and the Sable Knight (Or SnS as I call it for short) and it all came back. I fell in love again.
