(view spoiler)[I've always wondered what happened to Valiana. I thought she liked Pastien, but I suppose he was too weak, if willing to learn to love one with her issue. Maybe he would be the only one...considering. Anyway I always wondered if she would have been able to find someone to love? (sorry for the name spelling errors, I am an Audible listener) (hide spoiler)]

Alas, Pastien proved himself somewhat too ethically malleable for someone like Valiana who has fought so hard to build up her own moral foundations. More importantly, Valiana’s still focused on protecting the country from both existing threats and one’s just emerging, which is why she’ll be making a big appearance in Our Lady of Blades next year!

Hi! I've recently started the Spellslinger series (and by "started" I mean I've absolutely torn through the first three and am now desperately waiting for a chance to buy the fourth), and I have to ask: if, somehow, the main characters from the Spellslinger and Greatcoats series wound up in the same place, who do you think would get along with who (and, conversely, would anyone be at each other's throats)?

Hey!! So I just want to say I loved the Greatcoats series, it has so much heart in it, I just don't know how you're able to elicit such emotions from words. You sir are a genius. Now as to my question, do you ever intend to return to the Greatcoats series or specifically to Falcio, Brasti and Kest?

Also was Tristia once part of the Darome empire? it was mentioned that the stone that the castle was made of as well of some of the iron made certain types of magic difficult to use, this sounds similar to the old Trisitia mines to me and would kind of make sense if Darome was once one of the nations/ empires that the slaves of had to throw off resulting in Darome empire seeking a new continent to call home?
