Melissa Landers Haha, that's one of my favorites too! I actually get this question a lot, but it's not an easy one to answer. Basically, I experimented with words that were short and easy to pronounce, but still foreign-sounding enough to pass for an alien language. And judging by the frequent 'L + apostrophe' construct, all those years of French classes inspired me as well.
