Are any of your characters based on real people? What about the situations? Did any of these things happen to you?

Catherine Ryan Hyde No, I never base my characters on people I know. Except to the extent that I base all my characters on the human nature I witness. And there is rarely any autobiography. If there is any, it tends to be some small detail of the "you can't make this stuff up" variety. I think I tend to use my own internal questions and my own curiosity about human nature, but not actual life events.
