My real answer is that the procedural bones of a mystery and this fairy tale do seem to echo each other. Swan Lake has a sorcerer who preys on young women by turning them into swans. That certainly points a nefarious villain. Then how could such a powerful figure be stopped? That suggests a powerful motive for murder, doesn't it?(less)
