Goodreads asked Harrison Hill:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Harrison Hill In 2018, my brother Edward and his wife Margaret moved into a ground-level apartment in Brooklyn, New York. When their basement flooded one day, a neighbor from across the hallway came by to help clean up. This was Sarah Green—the central character of THE ORACLE'S DAUGHTER, who in 1999 escaped a cult run by her mother. In the weeks and months that followed the basement flood, Edward and his wife, Margaret, became friendly with Sarah, who eventually began to open up about her past. Edward and Margaret said they knew someone who might want to write about her. Which, of course, I did.
