2025 has been the year of Marillier- I have happily devoured all your novels and can say it's truly been a pleasure to lose myself in the complex worlds of Blackthorn, Sorcha, and Neryn. These tales of hope and struggle are especially important in light of current world events. I adored the rich connection to the natural world and the cycle of life and death- is that lore something you were raised with or found?
Juliet Marillier
Hi Gen and thanks for the question. It's something I found gradually, though I did grow up in a particularly beautiful part of New Zealand so I was attuned to the natural world quite early. As an adult, after some difficult times in my personal life, I began to explore druidry as a spiritual path, and ended up joining a druid Order, OBOD (The Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids) which has branches all over the world, though it is based in the UK. Their philosophies really chimed with what I truly believed in. You can find out more on the Order's website, www.druidry.org

I just have to say how much I adore your writing. You are and will ever be my favorite author. I started with Bridei Chronicles, The Dark Mirror and have been enamored ever since. I did want to ask if you will be coming to the US in the near future? So many fans over here, we would love to see you!

Hi Juliet, May I ask how you pronounce your last name? I'm active in the Booktube community, and haven't heard a consensus over there from the people I follow who have read and talked about your books. Is it pronounced like "Miller" with extra sounds in the middle, or like "du Maurier" with the silent "r" ending? Or something else? I want to make sure I'm getting it right!

Hello Juliet, First I want to say, thank you so much for writing Wildwood Dancing. It is one of my favorite books ever, and I am re-reading it for the fifth time this December. My bunica is coming to stay with us in England and I know that she would love this story too. Is there a Romanian translation? I cannot find one. Thank you you again. Warm wishes, Alexandra
