Do you like ancient philosophy? Any favourite ideas? Mine has got to be the idea that someone who is guilty of a crime/wrongdoing and receives punishment for it is happier than someone who doesn't (this is found in Plato's Gorgias); Giovanni Reale called it the "single biggest [intellectual] conquest" of all classical antiquity.

Manny Rayner I love Plato and have read all his Dialogues in English translation. I even published a short book of respectful parodies. Since you say you also like Gorgias, I just posted my parody here on Goodreads as a review of the book.
