Hi Erika, I tried to find a way to email you but all I found was this option! The Queen of Tearling is my favorite series and everyone that I have recommended it to has loved it. I am slightly afraid that the answer is in the book and I missed it. My question to you is this: Are the sapphires actual tear shaped like on the cover of The Fate of the Tearling?

Hi Sarah. I always pictured the sapphires as emerald-cut, actually, and I think I may even have said so somewhere in QOT (not sure; getting old). But I didn't have much say about the US covers of my books. Thanks very much for reading and recommending. I'm still trying (perhaps fruitlessly) to get back to the Tearling while I write other things.

Just finished the trilogy. WOW! I got my local library in Santa Fe to order the prequel and can't wait to absorb myself even more in this amazing world. I'm from Marin had a good chuckle at the references to the Bay Area. Question - this is a such a complex story, what is your secret to keeping all of the many storylines in order and bringing them into such a satisfying conclusion?
