Are you going to post any of your books on the Giveaway section of this site? I love The Merchant's Daughter and The Healer's Apprentice. I read the two in two siting periods for each book. I could not put them down. Whenever I do put a book down, I itch to know what happens next. I would love to read a version of Tarzan (maybe through Jane's eyes, you decide) and Pocahontas from your perspective.

Hi, Amanda! My publisher does sometimes do giveaways on Goodreads right around the time of the release of the book. Keep a wary eye out! I don't actually know if they have any planned in the near future.
I love the original Tarzan novels by Edgar Rice Burroughs! Especially the first and second ones. I love the concept. There's something really sweet about a man who meets another human (a female!) for the first time since he was a baby and realizes that he has to treat her much differently than he would a gorilla. Okay, that didn't come out quite right, but I do love that, and who knows? I might end up writing something with that general concept some day. As for Pocahontas, that's one I've never really thought much about. You never know . . .

How do you deal with people who think you are weird for having a "unrealistic" dream? People are always saying how my friends will go far in life and the moment I say I want to be a novelist, I am automatically deemed ignorant because I have "unrealistic" expectations. It hurts sometimes but when they see me with a notebook and ask, "Writing again?" I answer. "Always" every time.

Hi Melanie, I love your books! I am so excited to read The Princess Spy next! Do you find it hard to make characters fit in medieval times? How do you make sure their speech is right for the era? They fit in so perfectly. My favorite of your books is probably The Merchant's Daughter.
