But on page 96 of the Dover edition of the 1755 Tobias Smollett translation, Sancho Pancha does name his own sword. He calls it Toledo and the translators note says: "Tizona, which is the word in the original, is a romantic name given to the sword that belonged to Roderick Diaz de Bivar, the famous Spanish general against the Moors".(less)
