Just wondering if you are Polish? My parents are Polish and I grew up in Brooklyn, so I'm freaking out reading this book. I feel like I can smell the food when the Mazur family is sitting around their table or celebrating a holiday. I wasnt surprised to see you're a New York City girl because the references are too true to life to be made by an outsider. But I am very curious if you're Polish.

I am not but have a good friend who is the daughter of Polish immigrants, like Kasia. The foods and family holiday scenes are taken, in part, from the good memories I have from spending time in their home.
