Do you think dressage has had an effect on your writing?

Tami Hoag I would have said no, because I consider riding my break from writing. But a reporter pointed out to me the other day that there similarities between writing and dressage--the focus, the solitude, the need for the brain to organize and orchestrate. In dressage, one small movement builds to the next to a climactic movement, and then you ride out of that movement and start building toward another. Much like building a story.
