Wendy Forester
Wendy Forester asked Tami Hoag:

I know you struggle to finish writing under a deadline. Does the deadline truly help or just rush your story? Do you write outside or just at a desk? When you write, do you have an ending already set, or do your characters evolve and change the ending? ( I love your writing style and I can't wait for more of your books in my future)

Tami Hoag Deadlines are a necessary evil because publishing is a business and books need to be scheduled for release well in advance to keep the business flowing. From a writer's perspective, deadlines are both good and evil, depending on how well the writing is going. For the other part of your question, I seldom know how a book will end right up until I get to the ending. It's an organic process that evolves as it goes.
