I was hesitant also because I had heard it was similar to Gone Girl, but the only similarities are they are both mysteries with a missing woman. I disliked Gone Girl because I thought the author didn't deliver with a good ending. It didn't draw me in right away and then when it finally did the author dropped the ball with a horrible ending. The Girl on The Train was slow for the first 30 pages but then picked up. It is an easy read and does draw you in. Paula Hawkins delivers a satisfying ending that doesn't disappoint.(less)
