Hi Chris, excellent read, could hardly put it down. Curious what happened to Kate in the Accident -- it sounded like Hayden sent her off after the run in in at Grundtvig’s and that was that? Any plans to continue her character in another book?

Yes, that was that! I do intend to revisit Kate (and the whole cast of The Expats) in a future book, but she doesn’t play an important role The Accident. I enjoy it when the protagonist of one story becomes a bit player in another, even in a completely marginal fashion, as in David Mitchell’s novels, or The Wire. That’s what life is like, isn’t it? We’re all our own protagonists, but we’re also minor characters in lots of other people’s stories.

Hi Mr. Pavone, The Accident was a favorite read of mine last year and I shared it with many of my reading friends as much as I could. I recently finished a book that focused on authors and their personal bookshelves, one of the standing questions for all them or theme if you will, was that they had a book or two that they always go back to. I wondered what is one or two books that you enjoy revisiting time and again?
