Goodreads asked Sean P. McClure:

What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

Sean P. McClure My great, great grandmother is allegedly full Cherokee Indian. My grandmother had a card from the Northern Cherokee Tribe, and claimed she was 1/4 Indian. However, according to birth and death certificates, along with cencuses, she is notes as white. Back in the 1800's, being indian was being an outcast, so I can see that her fully white parents (according to all records) would document her as white. However, there is no stories or evidence of my grandmother's grandmother being Cherokee. Was the baby adopted (which they didnt do back then), or did a tibe give her to them so she could be incorporated into the American life? Was she kidnapped? Someday, I might make a fictional story out of this, even though 1800's historical fiction is not really a genere that interests me.
