The manner of how I speak. Growing up with a severe speech impediment, I spent most of my life struggling to be seen as an equal among my peers. I had to constantly prove to others that my disability wasn't a sign of my intelligence. Even today, I have to work to disprove the stigma. That's why I write stories as I do, as they give me a voice when I am voiceless.
