Goodreads asked Eric C. Holtgrefe:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Eric C. Holtgrefe RE: Innocence Lost. I have been paying attention and there are a lot of folks who are interested in the concept of transhumanism. All of the "golden age" SF authors grappled with this idea. I really wondered; what would it be like if we could "start over" in a new younger body. Innocence Lost is my "setting making" book on a galaxy that is there for transhumans.
I was also taken with the idea from another SF author (who I cannot find in my notes *sorry*), who speculated human consciousness is a wave. Adding the elements together you'll see my sum in Innocence Lost. I hope you like the novel, it is part of a trilogy!
