I READ THE NOVEL "SPHERE" BY MICHAEL CRICHTON. ONLY BOOK OF HIS THAT I READ THAT WAS BAD. THOUGHT IT WAS BAD BECAUSE DESPITE THE SUBJECT OF THE BOOK, IT WAS BORING. TO YOU, WHAT IS THE WORST TRAIT A BOOK CAN HAVE?

Glynnis Campbell For me, the worst trait in a book is an unlikable protagonist, when they're cruel, petty, spoiled, unreasonable, or angry all the time. If I'm not rooting for them to find redemption or solve the case or discover true love, it's hard for me to stay engaged with the story or care what happens to them.

Thinking about "Dangers Kiss", there was a passage where the dinner was being cooked up using(unintentialy) different torture devices as cooking tools. The tools that used, were they from your imagination or were such torture tools actually used by law enforcement back then to get confessions?
