Jeffrey asked Glynnis Campbell:

I LOVE LEARNING ABOUT THE HISTORY AND CULTURE OF PLACES THAT I VISIT. IN YOUR OPINION, IF A PERSON WERE TO VISIT LOS ANGELES, WHAT ARE THE TOP 5 PLACES A PERSON SHOULD VISIT TO LEARN ABOUT THE HISTORY AND CULTURE OF L.A.?

Glynnis Campbell Los Angeles is mostly about the mix of cultures. So for international flavor, Los Angeles is mostly about the blending of cultures. So I'd probably start with Grand Central Market, which has booths and kitchens from all over the world. Olvera Street, a Mexican market next to El Pueblo de Los Angeles is also worth a visit. Chinatown with its red pagoda-style buildings is fun too. Hollywood may be a bit trashy, but it's still entertaining to see the Hollywood Walk of Fame stars and the Chinese Theatre. And the museum complex at Exposition Park houses excellent natural history, science, and art museums, plus it's next to USC and the L.A. Memorial Coliseum.
