Shelly Crane:
How do you feel about Significance TV series? Do you think the series will affect the books either negative or possitive?

Oooooh. GREAT question!
Well, the TV show is going to be a separate beast. I know that the readers think I have a lot of say and pull in TV things, but I don't. Honestly, I've read the synopsis's for the first six episodes and the show is going to be different than the books. But it's going to be the same, too. I mean, of course I would love it if they just stuck to every page and every line, but that's not going to happen :) But I'm still excited to see it all come to life. I definitely think it'll be a positive thing for the book series, especially since I'm continuing on with it for a few more books. I want the readers to know that when networks pick up shows, they change things. It's just the way it is. One day, maybe they will keep a book series exactly how it is and an author will have some executive power! :) Personally, I think that would be an awesome thing, but until that day comes, we have to take what we can get to see book series on TV. This is what we have to do - a little give and take. Otherwise, it won't happen.
So, there are some things I definitely have fought for and some things I had to concede to. But ultimately, the little bit that I've seen of the show script so far is pretty great. I think the readers will be pretty happy if they just remember that it's not JUST like the books, it's based on the books, and it's not in the exact order, which most TV shows aren't. I hope everyone is excited nonetheless. And I hope everyone is excited for the new books as well.
Thank you!
