Hey Daniel! It’s a difficult question with a relatively simple answer: I just kept redrafting it over and over again until the pacing was right and the clues arrived when they needed to. It was just hard work. There were over thirty drafts of this book, each one substantially reworked from the last. As for inspirations, they’re pretty wide. Agatha Christie is the big one, but I took cues from Raymond Chandler and Arthur Conan Doyle, alongside Kafka and Arundhati Roy.

Absolutely loved The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle. I didn’t want it to end and it has become my all time favourite book! I can’t find anything as good as this and can’t wait to read your upcoming work. This book deserves so much praise. Any plans on this becoming a movie or a tv series?
