This question contains spoilers…
(view spoiler)[Hello! In "The Devil and the Dark Water", when the governor general discovered that the Folly had been stolen, it's been said that the mark moved. "The eye bulged and the tail twisted away." Since the threat of Old Tom was faked the whole time, how did the mark move? There was one more instance of the mark moving but it was a rumour among the sailors so I dismissed it. Could this also be an illusion of a scared mind? (hide spoiler)]

Hallo! I just looked this up, and the line after reads “under the swaying lantern it appeared to have a life of its own”. The movement is just a trick of the light and shadow, and an overactive imagination.

I just wanted to thank you for The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle. I had all but given up hope on newer mystery books finding most all too predictable. this left me baffled until the end, as only a truly well written story can do. Thank you for giving me a new puzzle to cherish. Do you have more books in the works?

Not a question, per se, but a complaint :P For goodness sake, what were you thinking writing a novel this good and letting me stumble upon it in the middle of school-report-card writing?! I blame you for the sleepless nights and the distant “hmmm?” my students got when asking me a question but my mind had wandered back to your book. Sensational work; all the flavour of Agatha Christie but also utterly original!

Just finishedThe devil and the dark water. Cant wait for your next novel. Woukd really like to see the group formed in the end to continue solving mysteries , defendung the helpless etc etc. Can it be the start of a series.? But any new fresh idea is very welcome, especially executed in that original and fun way. Thanks for many enjoyfull hours of reading!!!
