How do you get inspired to write?

Bryan Beaunoyer The main character of my book series, Sir Gilderlilly, has been in my life for well over thirty years. I created him at the age of twelve, and his story, as well as his appearance, has changed quite a lot over the years. I like to think that this series is my "definitive" version of Sir Gilderlilly's life and adventures. So, he's been living rent-free in my head for a very long time... and I felt it was time he at least earned his keep. But, I am just so happy that I am able to get his story out there for young readers, and I am hopeful that he can be an inspiration for kids both, young and old.
