The Secret Garden of Yanagi Inn was written for an Adult audience, but I have had younger readers (primarily teens) say they have enjoyed it, as well. The main themes (the grief associated with losing a parent as an adult, grappling with career and adult relationships, etc.) are going to resonate more with adults than younger readers, though.
For content warnings, do be advised that there is brief mention of abortion/miscarriages, and the death of a child from drowning. There is some creepy content, but it doesn't tip into full-on horror.
