I read Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus when I was younger but I don’t remember much from them. Is it important to the story to remember those books or can I just read this without rereading the series?

Gino I would recommend re-reading The Lightning Thief if you want to get some of the references, but otherwise you can definitely read this as a standalone novel and it won't affect your comprehension in the slightest.
