I kept avoiding this book because it sounded not at all like the kind of book I'd like. A little too heavy in the sci-fi for my taste, but I kept coming back to it and eventually just decided to read it. It is hands down my new favourite book series. It is incredibly well written and thought out. I was hooked within the first few chapters, so you should know pretty quickly in to the book if you want to continue.(less)
