Blankspace asked Stuart Gibbs:

Was it really necessary to have an inappropriate relationship between two women in a kid's novel? 1/5 stars

Stuart Gibbs There have been multiple relationships between heterosexual characters in those novels since the very beginning and not one person have ever considered those inappropriate. So I must assume that it's the same sex crush between two women that bothers you, but just know that it doesn't bother everyone. A majority of my readers are thankful for it. And there are plenty of people out there who recognize that a hundred one star reviews for including something like this doesn't mean that the book is bad, only that there are sadly still people who will give a book one star for saying that there are relationships in the world that are not heterosexual, even though that is true.
