Goodreads asked Patrick Hodges:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Patrick Hodges I haven't had to deal with it, yet... my first draft of Joshua's Island, which I wrote in five days, was over 40,000 words. The nearly 25,000 words that were added after that came fairly easily, after getting great feedback from great people.

Hypothetically, I would say that if I get stuck, the best thing would be to just walk away for a few days, and then come at it fresh.
