Aya Walksfar
Aya Walksfar asked Jeaniene Frost:

I wanted to commend you on your ability to write a fabulous series while continuing to keep the female as a strong, independent character. As a writer of strong female protagonists, I know how difficult that is to do. Were you ever tempted to fall into that type of characterization with Cat; and, if so, why did you resist the temptation? Have a great holiday season! Aya Walksfar

Jeaniene Frost Thank you. I wasn't trying to make a statement while writing Cat. When her character popped into my mind, she was already strong-willed and very take-charge (although sometimes to her detriment.) It felt natural to continue writing strong heroines. After all, I'm putting them in perilous emotional and supernatural circumstances, so if they were wilting flowers, they'd be dead by the end of chapter three, and that would make for very short, very sad stories ;).
