judith We don't know if they killed Cole or he hung himself, but his company took the fall for the security breach & completely revamped their whole system to eliminate the "exploit" Cole was running, so that op was over for the bad guys. Gabe was the threat to their scheme, & they had killed him trying to keep it going, but now there's no benefit to killing anyone else, plus Cole testified before he died so they have been exposed.
Joan Druett Totally agree. Simon Kernick, who writes this kind of book much more elegantly, would have craftily pointed this out himself, just to get the reader all wound up for the next instalment.
