I'm reading The Best Men for the umpteenth time; decided it would be a good "bicycle book" to read while I pedal my recumbent. Did you and Sarina each take a character, or did you collaborate on everything? Every time I read it, I'm awed by your skill in subtle character development. Have the two of you done anything else together?

Lauren Blakely That's a great question and I'm so happy that you like The Best Men so much! We did not split the book by character. We each worked on each character, and we would usually take a chapter at a time and then pass it back-and-forth so that at the end it felt like one blended voice!

Hey Lauren! I've been looking forward to A Guy Walks Into My Bar for several months and am thrilled that it's out. I've downloaded the audiobook because I love Shane East and Joe Arden. I'm having a hard time reconciling Shane East's voice with comparisons to Michael B. Jordan and Idris Elba. With East and Arden being part of the inspiration for the book why is Dean a person of color when he is voiced by a white man?
