Why do you write in UK English?

Jenni Ward I've been asked this a few times! Growing up in Australia, I read books that were written in both US and UK English. When I began writing I made the decision to continue writing in UK (or Australia since many of my books contain local saying or speech quirks!) .

So why stay writing in UK English when more books are released in US English? Language is so much more than just a difference in spelling. Sentence structure, local phases and sayings, vocabulary differences....

I guess I find it easier to write in a language I know. Sometimes I see feedback about mispelt words, but I understand some readers have not had a lot of exposure to UK English :)
