I am halfway though, and I don't care about the characters yet. Very unusual for me with Ann Patchett. Anyone else find this was the case? I've been reading glowing reviews. I'm not feeling it -- yet.

I couldn't find a plot and hoped something unexpected would occur....apart from me falling asleep every 2 pages! Useful feedback...wish I'd done my homework before I bought it but as many say...Ann Patchett is usually wonderful. Bel Canto is one of my favourite books.(less)
