I am halfway though, and I don't care about the characters yet. Very unusual for me with Ann Patchett. Anyone else find this was the case? I've been reading glowing reviews. I'm not feeling it -- yet.

This was the slowest book I have read in ages. The short twists at the end seemed Ike after thoughts. And frankly were not worth trudging through the rest. (less)
