Karen Simonson She’s asking Xavier to rate how she did with making him a paper airplane.
judith We know from Mara's bizarre stories about Marcus & Albert that she lost her sanity years ago, so there's no rational basis to interpret her note at the end of the book. I think it means she's waiting to see what happens...if Xavier lives, she'll stay to be there for him, but if he dies, she'll go to "join Marcus." Either way, she'll be waiting for Xavier.
Caryn I think she was hopeful that he was coming home/that he was going to recover and she wanted him to know that she was there for him; that he had someone to turn to.
Shellie Shauer Perhaps Mara went back to her family.
