(view spoiler)[Why do I continue to vote for Democrats when Democrats are eroding our civil liberties to the same extent as Republicans?
Why are cancel culture and censorship considered values of the political left. Right means conservative. They want to control womens' bodies. Of course they do. That's what I expect from the far right.
Left means liberal. So why is the far left so touchy about what people say? The Democratic Party has been the party of censorship since the 80s. Ask Dee Snider or Jello Biafra. The PMRC was a real thing. I'm a punk rock kid. Saying shit that pisses people off is part and parcel of this particular subculture. If Democrats are for more liberty, stop wagging your finger at everyone that falls short of your ultra PC agenda.
Fascists to my right, fascists to my left, here I am stuck in the middle with no one. How is it that a rational point of view and a affinity for more civil liberties has pushed me to the middle of the political spectrum? Neither party offers nourishment for a wary traveler. Democrats offer stale bread and tepid water, Republicans offer a warm cup of piss! I guess I'll take the bread and water? Who will offer us a cheeseburger and milkshake? In my brain, mysteries abound. (hide spoiler)]
