Why is the ending of this Julian getting shot and someone wanting Magnolia's address? To me, it implies there's more to the story yet there isn't. I even skimmed the ending of Daisy Haites: The Great Undoing and that gave me 0 answers. Can someone please explain it to me?

This book and the great undoing have the same timeline. In the next book it wil be explained.
