Barbara
Barbara asked:

Why was it mentioned a few times that the co-owner of the gallery looked familiar. Did I miss a connection somewhere?

Ellen Klock I think he was Elise’s husband’s son from another relationship. That is why he looked familiar to those who were from Paris who knew him.
Amanda Santiago Omg yes! This is driving me crazy! Who was he!?? Did I miss something?
Linda Because she was really Mathilde and she recognized him from her childhood, I think.
Helen I had the very same question. Why would both Elise and Juliette say he was familiar and then not clarify why?
Jennie I came here to ask the same question. Maybe it’s an editing issue.
Barbara Adams Yes I’d like to know! I really thought there would be explanation.
Susan I’m here looking for the same answer! Glad I’m not alone!
Laraine This is driving me crazy!
Adrienne Moriarty Just finished the book, which I loved. I’m wondering the same thing!! What was the point?
Arthur Juliette and Lucie might both have seen him around, but I agree that it seems there should be more than that. I feel like a scene has been edited out that would have tangentially connected him to the rest, as if he were some neighbor's son or the son of one of Olivier's compatriots.
Lindsey Pilgreen Perhaps he was loosely part of the artist group they were a part of in New York or in Paris? Just someone vaguely known in the artist world perhaps?
Joanne I also was wondering about this. No satisfactory answers so far, I think.
Melissa Noel I was wondering the same.
Sarah Whipps I also came here hoping to find the answer to this...
