In the audiobook they say "sea-gail" or "sea-gaeyl". (Both vereions are supposed to be pronounced the same).

scale - like a scale on a dragon. the odd spelling gives it a romantic pronunciation - sort of a phonetic pronunciation: sss-g -ae - yl -- where ae is a diphthong or a long a sound.

I mean… for a book about dragons… is it really a stretch to think it’s pronounced like “scale”? But I’m from Utah and we see some very unusual spellings in names out here… :)

I just listened to the audiobook, and the person who read it said it kind of like Suh-Gail.
