millie asked Camilla Isley:

I'm almost finished writing a book but I'm not sure where to start when it comes to looking for publishers/getting my book on bookstore shelves. Do you have any advice on where to start? (also I love your books so so much x)

Camilla Isley Hi Millie,
getting your book on physical bookstore shelves might be hard, but if you want to go digital you can do it right away self publishing.

You have two possible routes: look for a publishing deal or self-publish.

If you want to go with traditional publishing you will need to find an agent first, submitting your manuscript to various literary agencies, and then if you're signed, they will find a publisher for you book.

If you want to self-publish, you can upload your book online to all major stores in print and ebook easily. But first you would need to have your book professionally edited and proofread and to hire a cover designer. At the Alliance of Independent Authors you can find a directory of all recommended professionals https://www.allianceindependentauthor... and a lot of other info on self publishing.

I hope this helps and I wish you all the best for your writing career...

x, Camilla
