First of all, thank you for your beautiful books about Tuscany; they have provided escape, refuge and refreshment when I have badly needed it. In one of your books you talk about a plan for an artists' community in your town in NC. Has that come to fruition? Also (is this cheating?), what roses do you grow in your garden/s?
No! The crisis hit just as we were forming our final plans. I hope someday to revive the project. Roses! We have about fifty types in Italy and over 150 here in NC--so you name it, we grow it! Actually, we favor old roses for their heady perfumes and special character.
