Most of my books are set in Scotland, and I don't believe Britain has suffered ongoing drought conditions until the last decade or so. There was a mini ice age in the 1600s, so there have been climate extremes. Fortunately, with the heavy rainfall we've had this year, California is out of drought danger at the moment.
