Goodreads asked Rebecca Warner:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Rebecca Warner The idea for DOUBLING BACK TO LOVE was conceived as I became increasingly alarmed by how women are being attacked for their sexuality in the current political climate. During the 1970s and 1980s, when I was living in Miami as a single woman, my girlfriends and I reveled in our freedom, our independence, our sexuality, and our ability to have sex with a number of men without fear of pregnancy. We talked about our relationships and our sexual experiences candidly, and often. We were not indiscriminate, but we did not feel guilty about having sex with a man who wasn't a serious boyfriend, fiancee or husband. It wasn't about commitment, marriage, or exclusivity; it was simply about our own sexual gratification. Men had long been able to enjoy that kind of sexual freedom, and it was our turn. I wanted to explore that same kind of independent sexuality in 2014, and I did so through my character, Alexis (Lexi) Avery, a woman who is a composite of me and my girlfriends from that time.
