How do you get inspired to write?

Annabel Monaghan Sometimes I’ll have a thought spinning around in my head for a few days, and I know it’s not going to leave me alone until I write about it. I guess you’d call that inspiration. But I don’t really believe in waiting to feel inspired to write. Writing really happens for me while I’m writing. If I can be disciplined enough to sit down and open my laptop (I cannot overstate how hard this part is. The agony!!) the inspiration will usually come while I’m typing.
