I thought Jamie’s mother was a witch. How come she didn’t succumb to “the curse” and die after birth leaving him an orphan like the others? Primrose knew of her, and Jamie had older brothers. Was she a second wife to his Dad?

nora Aside from the Jamie-Ian mix up, the curse affects parents of witches, not children of witches. Ian's mother (who was a witch) was still alive when he was growing up, because Ian was not a witch.
Mika's parents died because Mika was a witch, not because her mother was a witch. If Mika had been a normal human, her parents could still have been alive.
