Thanks so much... I'd be remiss not to praise Jim Mangold, who wrote on the script as well, Stuart Beattie, who did an uncredited rewrite, and of course, my partner Michael Brandt. Also original 1957 writer Halsted Welles and the incomparable Elmore Leonard, who wrote the original short story. Thanks for watching... now read The Silver Bear!

Hi Derek Love all your books and follow on twitter. Finished The Way I Die and can’t wait for next great Columbus adventure. I read Nancy’s question as I am a big fan of ‘Clay’ as well. Loved all the ongoing references to Columbus’ demise throughout the story. Any special thoughts on how they came about?
